Beth Jennings

December 19, 2021

Beth Jennings, 52, passed away suddenly at her home on December 19, 2021. She will be missed by many. Beth was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. She was the youngest child of John C. Jennings and Betty S. Jennings. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Page Southwick Jennings, and her beloved Minnie Lee Davis. She is survived by her sister Vicki Jennings Sabatella (John), John C. Jennings, Jr. (Wanda), David Jennings, and Steve Jennings (Danielle), and her cherished cat Chloe. She is also survived by nieces Jayden Jennings, Jordyn Jennings, and Lanie Jennings Cyr (Chris), nephews John C. Jennings, III, Bryson Cyr, and Hunter Jennings. Beth attended Brentwood School, Oak Hall, and GHS. After high school, Beth worked the majority of her life in the hospitality business. If you were fortunate enough to see her there, you would always be greeted with an infectious smile that would carry its way up to her eyes. Beth loved people and children in particular. When her friend’s children would visit, Beth always had a good supply of mini Milky Way’s for them. One of her fondest memories was spending the summers at Ponte Vedra Beach as a child with her parents, siblings, cousins, friends and Minnie Lee, and all the dogs and cats that arrived in mass each summer. Beth always felt more comfortable with the simple pleasures in life like friends, conversation, and laughter. One of her favorite pleasures was a beach, any beach. Give Beth a warm sunny day with the sound of the ocean, some Kenny Chesney music, and an ice-cold drink and she was in heaven. A dolphin or two would make her day. In her little spare time, she was a good cook, but an exceptional baker. Friends and acquaintances would line up for her made from scratch chocolate chip cookies. If you were in her inner circle, you might even be treated to her homemade stuffed shells. Our hearts are broken with the loss of a life ended too soon, but “a heart that has been broken is a heart well-loved”. A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 4:00 p.m. at Williams Thomas Westarea Chapel, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, FL 32669.
