Robert "Bob" Flowers

On Sunday, October 30, 2022, the world lost a great comedian, son, brother, husband, father and grandfather. Robert “Bob” Flowers passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67. Bob was born on February 4, 1955, in St. Louis, Missouri as one of six children. His family moved around the country many times in his childhood, and he graduated from Southwest Dekalb High school in Atlanta, Georgia in 1973. Bob also graduated from Oklahoma State university with a major in Marketing and he worked for many years with his four brothers and father in their family-owned business. Bob settled down in Florida in 1986 and met his wife Karen, a widower in 1989 and married in 1991. Bob accepted the difficult task of helping raise her two pre-teen daughters, Bobbi and Mary Leach. He loved them as his own children and spoiled them knowing that they had already lost one father. Later in life, Bob also helped raise his two grandsons, Peyton and Patrick Pons. Together the three of them loved watching sports, especially football. In fact, Bob joked that he waited 50 years to see the Kansas City Chiefs (his favorite NFL team) win a Super Bowl. He was also a die-hard St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Bob’s goal in life was to walk into a room and make people laugh. He had a joke for every occasion and for every person he met. You could always recognize Bob in a room of people as he stood by silently with a smirk on his face always waiting for his moment to share his jokes and laughter with strangers and friends alike. He loved the ocean, the Mississippi River, the Three Stooges, W.C. Fields, the Lone Ranger, westerns, Superman and eating desserts. Bob is survived by his loving wife Karen, his two stepdaughters Mary and Bobbi, his stepson, John Harrell, Jr., his grandsons, Peyton Pons, Patrick Pons, Burr Hays, his granddaughter Breanna McDaniel, his brothers Mike, Steve and Greg, as well as his sister Phyllis Flowers. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Paul and Marjorie Flowers and his brother, Jeff Flowers. We ask for everyone who Bob was able to make laugh or smile join us on Thursday, November 10th at 6:30 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd street Newberry, FL. as we celebrate his life.
