Glory Ann Coomer-Rothman

December 22, 1941 – December 5, 2024 Glory Ann Coomer-Rothman, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2024, just weeks shy of her 83rd birthday. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, and raised in Barton, Vermont, Glory Ann spent her life giving to others with grace, kindness, and an infectious zest for life. A dedicated speech-language pathologist, Glory Ann earned a Master’s degree in Speech Pathology and spent her career helping others learn to communicate. Her work was more than just a profession—it was her passion. She was known for her warmth, patience, and dedication, and she touched countless lives with her expertise and heart. Glory Ann was married to Howard Rothman for nearly 45 years. Together, they created a loving home filled with music, laughter, and traditions. She was the proud mother of Rachel, Gabrielle, and Aviva, and the cherished grandmother to Sophie, Jonah, Jake, Joshua, Asher, and Lily. Her family was her world, and her love for them was boundless. A longtime member of the local Jewish community, Glory Ann served as the treasurer of the Sisterhood, where her organization and generosity made a lasting impact. She was also a lover of animals, especially cats and horses, and her green thumb brought beauty and life to all who visited her home. Glory Ann’s love of life was evident in everything she did—whether it was practicing Tai Chi, playing the piano, dancing, or simply enjoying time with those she loved. She lived with an energy, and innate sweetness that inspired everyone who knew her. Her kindness, gentleness, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her sister, Mary Jane Leroux, and her brothers-in-law, Robert Leroux and Ron Rothman. Glory Ann is survived by her husband, children, grandchildren, and many extended family members and friends, who will forever remember her as the sweetest, kindest, and most loving soul. Her memory will forever be a blessing. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration (www.theaftd.org). A memorial service will be held December 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the B’nai Israel Cemetery (corner of University Avenue and Waldo Road).
