Analee P. McLain

Analee Pavelsky McLain passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2026, in Gainesville, Florida, where she had lived for nearly 50 years. She was born on August 17, 1940 in the Bronx, New York. Some of her favorite childhood memories were spent in upstate New York at a place she lovingly called “The Farm,” where her summers were filled with family time and simple joys. As a teenager, Analee moved to Hialeah, Florida, where she soon met the love of her life, Chuck McLain. Analee and Chuck shared 65 years of marriage, building a life rooted in love and family. In those early years, Analee thrived as a stay-at-home mom, raising their three daughters, having morning coffee with her mother, taking the kids on field trips to places like Miami Beach, and the Everglades. She sewed original Halloween and dance recital costumes, made beautifully decorated birthday cakes for her children (and later her grandchildren), sold Tupperware and Shaklee, and was an active member of the PTA. She also loved living on the same street as her parents, in-laws, and close friends. In the mid-1970s, Chuck and Analee moved the family to Gainesville, where they made their home for the next several decades. Analee joined the workforce as a Human Resources Benefits Specialist at Environmental Science and Engineering (ESE). After many years at ESE, she returned to school at Santa Fe Community College and went on to work from home as a medical transcriptionist for a veterinary pathologist. Analee’s greatest pride and joy was her family, and she cherished her special friendships with people who were like family. Her home was the center of countless gatherings, especially for birthdays, Thanksgivings, and Christmases, which she always made into special occasions. She loved playing Bunco once a month, reading, gardening, and watching old movies. She was a wonderful cook, best known for her fried chicken, turkey soup, and her famous green potatoes. Analee was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Michael Pavelsky and Dorothy (Kaplan) Pavelsky; her brother, Steve Pavelsky; and her sister, Rose Corrales. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, Charles McLain; her three daughters, Rhonda Roughton (James), Laura Marín (Álvaro), and Lisa Coronado (John); seven grandchildren, Brittany Bowers (Danny), Paul Marín, Jessica Warner (Paul), Jason Roughton (Jacquie), Julia Coronado, Louie Coronado, and Tanya Coronado; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Analee will be remembered for her warmth, her optimism, her friendly spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome in her home. Most of all, she will be remembered for the deep love she had for her family and the deep love they have for her in return. . A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Williams- Thomas Funeral Home – Westarea Chapel, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida 32669. Interment will follow at Newberry Cemetery.
